A Game Called Witchbrook
It certainly a coincidence that I always made new post in every date with number "9" in it. Well, anyhow I want to talk a new thing I fixated about. It's a game called Witchbrook and still in-development.
Witchbrook is a pixel art life-sim game where you play as a witch in-training. Chucklefish, the publisher as well the developer stated the game is like Stardew Valley meet Harry Potter. Tho, I see it more leaning toward Little Witch Academia than HP.
Magic in Witchbrook seen as civil service. Kinda remind me with Kiki's Delivery Service. You can provide advice to townsfolk with divination skill on subjects such as travel, finance, love, etc. You will learn to use the local flora (and sometimes fauna) to craft remedies like herbal teas and topical salves for pesky everyday ailments, progressing over time to complex cures in the form of potions.
There's also relationship aspect where you will be able to make friends and find love. Currently, we have 3 official romancable already announced; Eli, Cormac, and Hana. More will come.
Sadly, the game still coming soon in 2026.
I'm Obsessed with this game
For the first time as casual gamers, I feel an enthusiasm to buy a game. Even saving my money to buy it. Even waiting for a release date. A lot of drama surrounding both pf the developer (Chucklefish) and the game itself. Witcbrook has been in development for 9 years and people being skeptical over it. I can blame them, I feel the same, but still wishing for it to actually be good somehow.
